Yesterday I found myself rummaging through the drawer in my room and picking up Nirvana’s self-titled greatest hits album. I immediately threw it into my laptop and imported the CD into iTunes. It’s been playing ever since. Recently I’ve been going back into my rock/metal/punk music phase through bands like Iron Maiden, Metallica, Alexisonfire, Wild Nothing and now Nirvana. Nirvana is a grunge band that was formed in Washington in 1987. The main members being Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and a number of drummers. The most notable and longest drummer for Nirvana being Dave Grohl who is currently a member of the Foo Fighters. Nirvana had exploded onto the music scene until Cobain’s death in 1994. Their grungy sound is inspired by Led Zeppelin, The Pixies, Aerosmith and Black Sabbath as quoted from Cobain himself.
